Enlightened Playtest

Enlightened is a tabletop role playing game. We at D9 Games have combined our more than 80 years of experience to bring the gaming community a fun alternative to standard RPGs. We feel that some RPG experiences can be static and predictable; we aim to be more dynamic.

Our mission is to put together a set of rules and guidelines that are user friendly, yet still have all the ‘crunch’ many gamers enjoy. We at D9 pride ourselves on how this system has freed up much of the Game Masters time by allocating more dice rolls to the players.

Enlightened is largely based on custom design: players can customise their classes, talents, spells and many other things. We believe our beloved ‘ease/difficulty’ mechanic sets us apart from other games as it allows for multiple levels of complexity or simplicity based on the players experience.

We love the idea of the bell curve, with regards to the results of the die rolls. Our basic rolls are with two 10-sided dice, which we call D9s. The D9s we use have numbers 0-9 with 0 =0 not 10.

Enlightened only uses 3 stats, strength (STR), agility (AGI) and intellect (INT), combining two stats to create each of three features on the characters sheet.
